Hi I’m Charis and I am an enthusiastic and ambitious textile designer, specialising in print design for fashion and sportswear, determined to develop a career in the design industry. I am especially interested in high performance and technical fabrics, and have developed a strong understanding of this area through my degree.  I love to paint and express my ideas through mark making and colour. My hobbies include charity shopping, netball and anything involving the sea!

 

Being from an outdoorsy and active family has had a great impact on my view of the world, especially my creativity and design work. My understanding of nature has come directly from my experiences of it; enabling me to translate this authentically through my passion for design and innovation to solve a problem I have spotted. Travel around my own country has exposed me to the beauty of nature close to home and the activities I have enjoyed such as hiking, canoeing, and camping have tuned my interests to the beauty and freedom of nature. Thus, my eye for colour, pattern and material is part of my DNA.
